My friend, Xavier, stays in the Thompson dorm at Western Illinois University. Neither of us knew of the haunting. He and I were playing video games. Suddenly he jumped up yelling at me, asking why the heck I slapped him. I thought he was kidding. Not even an hour later, I was laying down and something crawled in bed with me. I thought it was Xavier until a woman's voice said, "He's mine". I rolled.over and.there was absolutely no one there. The next day our friend Austyn said the dorm was haunted by a possessive woman I will never stay at the Thompson dorm again.
Good Morning, Peanutsmomm. Welcome to GhostPlace. I hope you enjoy the time you spend with us. Thank-you for sharing your story with us. It would seem that Thompson Dorm is indeed haunted, and I do wonder what triggered it. If there is indeed a possessive lady hanging out there, there has to be some basis and history for the legend. I am betting a bit of research would turn up some answers, and in all likelihood a question or two as well. So, instead of 'never staying at Thompson Dorm ever again', may I suggest you do a bit of research.. It may be a fascinating and revealing exercise. Muriel!
I researched it, and a young lady in the 60's passed away in front of.Thompson due to car accident. I will not go back EVER. Another friend of ours said his girlfriend was pushed.
I had a couple of friends that attended Western in the mid 80s and while I don't know what dorm(s) they stayed in, I remember there were always rumors about supernatural activity around campus ....b
Hi Again.. Interesting, I do recall watching a Ghost Hunting show about that a couple of years ago. M!
Welcome to GhostPlace! Car wreck, you say? Possessive woman spirit presence in another’s bed? Another’s girlfriend pushed by unseen force? Your friend slapped by unseen force? Almost sounds like another “Resurrection Mary” incident, but with a twist toward the macabre or even vengeful - A dormitory this time instead of a cemetery. Makes one wonder about the social activity at the time. Safe journey
Since I attend WIU now, it was easier to find information on it. I also discovered at the time that women were still looked down upon if they committed adultery, and this woman's name is Gretchen, never found a last name. But she was 4 months pregnant and the guy that hit her was her boyfriend. No one was ever charged, tho.
